American Automobile Association or AAA and their latest "Car Care Plus" concept car is a destination for car owners. This is a proto-type store and training facility, which was set for today's consumer. The location is right next door to the place you go to pay traffic fines in Sacramento (California State Capitol). Surgery also has a car wash without a car in line to be washed means you can zoom in and get a quick car wash. There are four employees waiting for you to bring in your car, when we were there, all four employees were inside the laundry sitting down to stay out of heat. town, street sites, and signage should be carefully thought out a little more, but the building is quite nice.
The signage shows this is all in one operation center (car wash, diagnosis, repair and oil change). With AAA with 4 million members in California, if they can improve their concept for an all in one service center, they will be a strong player in the market. We were very impressed and would have been a few additional changes necessary for it to become a world class facility. This 10,000 square foot building plus a large-size corporate jet fractional company hanger, with polished concrete floors. It is a combination of tilt-up and steel construction. With a total of 18 bays, technicians are able to carefully work on cars belonging to AAA members while being trained. They also offer a paint chip repair "Pro Colors" show that the co-branding opportunities are available even with the largest companies.
Also inside was a Hertz rent-a-car, again co-branding is good for the customer and provides opportunities for businesses of all sizes. The Hertz place, of course, is really going to have to do some give AAA member of his / her price. At this point, if you do not want to rent a car AAA has shuttle service to take you to your home or office, your car is serviced. AAA did not stop there though. They also have a cafe 'Java Makers. "This is definitely a draw for customers. In the right market, this concept could make AAA the ultimate competitor. AAA is a lot of research, and even followed suit with kids play area concept. It seems that many companies and car washes to use this idea. This is great for kids, and we sincerely AAA for their vision to lift the image of our industry.
Triple is looking to test this business model, and if it continues to earn money to put similar operations across the nation. Very interesting indeed.
