There are some really nice examples of business out there. This is one of them. valuable example of a single business architecture.
This company has focused on three activities:
Automobile distributors are often listed. There is a clear division in the automotive industry among car manufacturers and distributors of these. There are rules for the distribution, where a distributor is not able to freely distribute the different brands of cars.
In this case, the company distributes (in Belgium) the following brands: Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Porsche et. Staying the distribution of this business unit f the company has focused on the distribution and import parts. In addition, they brokered the other hand the market over the network (My Way ).
Each company has a specific job and each job often requires a unique way of organizing. Together these two companies make a business architecture.
There are many best practices in the organization of certain jobs. The most famous is the "focus". It is a responsibility-oriented rule that says you can not excel in everything.
There are other regulations that are more organizational drive, "Scale" is one of them, "Synergy" is another. The main drive for the organization is to become effective.
In this case, the synergy is achieved not only the distribution of vehicles, but also the distribution of spare parts and used cars. In the first case the distribution of parts may offer advantages of scale and efficiency. The second case provides more vertical synergies, the distributor network is focused around the customer and the same customer base can be solved for the second hand market
More interesting are even other business units. Car rentals for example. Renting a car is necessary maintenance and parts, office rent, but you need a constant flow of new models. It is very difficult to rent a car that is "two or three years old." This again provides organizational efficiency, but it also makes the business less vulnerable to economic cycles.
Accordingly, the third largest business unit - a vehicle glass - supports previous company (sales and leases), as it supports organizational effectiveness, glass replacement and repair of vehicles, regardless of
.Most of this unique company that is history. The company exists for more than two hundred years (1 ).
Then, there is only a small step away from the business architecture investments. I was motivated by financial (earnings) forecasts and the company's current stock-price development. Commercial Architecture-wise the company is unique, and not the last, because the investment structure is unique too, the company is wholly owned by rental car, because it is separately listed on the London Stock Exchange. This makes it a little puzzle a wise investment.
What remains is the fact that the company is a true jewel of a business case for architecture. And that's where this article was all about.
